party in a galaxy far, far away

A few weeks ago my sister and I had the pleasure of organising and putting on a party for our brother's 8th birthday. Isaac had exact plans on what he wanted...a Star Wars themed party complete with costume. Fortunately India and I found a few ideas from this clever girl, browsed Pinterest and racked our brains (being the creative people we are...ha!) and came up with a party any Star Wars fanatic would be proud of.

I had the fun, challenging and long job of making the cake...stayed up until 12:30am to finish it the night before. :)
The guests' lovely entrance.
We had fun making Star Wars food...got really creative on some things.
Relatives came early for lunch and a catch up. 'Twas very nice.
India spent hours making these clever Leia cupcakes.
And Eloise went creative with chocolate drizzled wookie cookies.
Yum...?
For some bizarre reason, Sophie decided she wanted to dress up as Yoda for the party and proceeded to get me to paint her face green.
Amusing one.
Darth Vader, Yoda and Anakin Skywalker respectively.
My siblings looked fantastic!
And as much as I simply despise the character Leia (and Star Wars in general :P), I decided to have fun and dressed up as her.
It wouldn't be complete without lightsaber fights outside.
Birthday boy was very happy throughout it all and didn't want his picture taken with India...or me as a matter of fact. :(
Star Wars action on the trampoline!
Then the children were split into two teams and had to try and free their Hans Solo lego man from 'carbonite' (frozen blue water).
It was fun to watch them hack away at the frozen water for ages.
Yoda on the scooter...going all out there in coolness.
 Crazy lady (I mean Yoda!).
Birthday cake time...I admit I was quite proud in the end with how my cake turned out. It looked quite nice with candles.
 Defending the cake...for some reason.
The young Jedi (and Darth Vader) ready for cake.

It was a great success, the Star Wars party. Isaac enjoyed himself, and that's the main thing. :)
Do it again sometime India? (as much as we hate Star Wars!)

xo,
Holly

    1. I just do...sci fi is so not my thing AT ALL, and Star Wars is a classic example of my dislike for that genre. Plus my brothers talk it 24/7, so I get a leetle tired of hearing it, if you know what I mean! :P
