a very-merry J.R.R Tolkien-worthy party

The hobbit party.
It couldn't have been a better theme to celebrate Alice's sixteenth birthday. She and her amazing family put in so much effort decorating, organising and pulling off one of the best parties I've ever been to. The rain came down off and on, but that didn't spoil the fun. Many games were played, much eating, talking, laughing and being hobbits was done. It couldn't have been more splendid.
India and I drove down to New South Wales with some dear friends. The previous night, Eebee, India and I had put our hair up  in rags, so it was all curly and hobbity like (mostly) for the party. In the end, I didn't end up as a German hobbit, but that's ok. I was more pleased with actually having my hair curled. We arrived at the party an hour and a half later (because we forgot about daylight savings...!), but that didn't seem to bother Alice and we got right into the fun.

Beautiful birthday lady.
I was seriously blown away by the decorations.
The best sixteenth birthday cake in creation isn't it?
I'm so blessed to have Alice's friendship, love you birthday girl!
After, we danced and danced and danced. By far the best part of the party.
When we were all so exhausted we could hardly stand, we all sat down around the campfire and ate amazing birthday cake, drank tea, told stories and sang songs.
Once everyone had gone home, us Toowoomba girls who were staying the night and Alice all stayed up way too late outside mucking around at the campfire and on the trampoline. When we finally turned in, our feet were so muddy. But it was so worth getting dirty and tired.

Thank you so much for one of the best birthday parties ever Alice. It was an amazing adventure (!) we hobbits will never, ever forget it!

Love,
Holly xo

p.s. A big thank you to Mrs. Somervaille & Mrs. Hogbin for taking a few of the photos when I was too busy enjoying myself to bother! (or when I actually lost my camera in the dark and was searching for it for a couple hours...um, yes.)
