St. Helena Island Excursion

A couple of weeks ago, my family went on a school excursion to an island near Brisbane. Our friends organised a homeschooling group from Toowoomba to go together and we had a lovely time! I took many photos and learnt lots. So here goes! (the photos aren't very good, but then that's what happens when you own a cheap camera!)

On the ferry

I loved the scenery! It was breathtaking!

The back of the boat

The island had been previously a prisoner settlement, so there were some tour guides who told us about the history of the place. it was interesting, and the tour guides were funny and pretended to be guards and prisoners! This is a old well.

Walking to different sites on the island
Big prison walls

Or what's left of it!
What a prisoner's room would've looked like

An old piano!

and they acted out a prisoner's punishment of flogging!
And this was the graveyard.

On the ferry again to home

Friends... (from left to right) Makenzie, Alice, Eebee, Me & Elsie.

It was a fun day and we all learned lots! I'm glad we went :  )
